After 19 months, the BlackBerry BBM Music service, throws in the towel

Blackberry (then Research in Motion) competing with free services like Spotify Ltd. and Pandora Media Inc., launched BBM Music in August 2011, a music service in the cloud that allowed users to create a profile with 50 songs and share them with their contacts.

The announcement surprises users

"BBM Music helps in creating playlists for every occasion (for a party, for a trip or for exercise) and sharing them with friends on BBM Music. Find out if your contacts use BBM Music and start sharing music with them instantly! In addition, you can now use the "I like" in their songs, profiles and playlists”, reads the company website.

A large number of users are surprised over this sudden decision of Blackberry and they expressed their concerns on various social media sites.
