The iPhone 5 Is Unconvincing In China
"I was disenchanted by the design”, said a young man on the social network, while another said: "the iPhone 5 does not surprise or progress”

The new smartphone introduced by Apple, the iPhone 5, has not excited Chinese users, according to a survey by Weibo, the largest social network. 80% of respondents said they wanted to buy the phone secondhand.

The survey which remains open and has interviewed 40,000 people, was surprised by the only 20% of potential buyers in a population that was usually enthusiastic about Apple products. Following the release, many were disappointed, as seen in many comments alluding to high expectations.

"I was disappointed in their design” said a young man on the network, while another said there was no surprise or progress. Others, far from leaving the Apple brand, said that they would buy the cheaper one, the 4S, now.

Today, more than 60 million users have left comments regarding the phone. Taobao was quick to make available a reservation system to buy the iPhone 5 when it goes on sale in Hong Kong on September 21st. In mainland China, the release will wait. The previous phone arrived in Beijing 3 months after its release, and Beijing residents had to wait for 120 days to buy the new iPad.
